One World Craft Activity

What can I say! The Ellenbrook Community Primary School year 4s were amazing yesterday as I led the silk painted workshop for One World Week.

30 young people, fully engaged all day, produced some stunning drop-flags to hang on their bedroom doors.

I am looking forward to going back tomorrow to deliver a mask making and t-shirt painting session inspired by the animals of the rainforest!

Busy Busy Bee

That, apparently, is the definition of my name 'Debbie' - busy as a bee.  Well, I cannot deny there is a certain similarity.

I am currently preparing for a silk painting workshop at Ellenbrook School in Worsley, tomorrow.

Thankfully the internet is up and running again so I can also finish the research for the rainforest masks and t-shirt painting on Thursday!

I just love working here, at the studio! The fog has settled into a pretty mist, encompassing White Nancy and I am listening to Norah Jones as I prepare my lesson.

I think I may just make myself a ginger and honey herbal tea...

Mosaic, silk painting, eco art, painting, life drawing....

Oh what to plan first? I'm so excited about planning a range of courses and workshops but need to organise the studio first. Just got another desk put in because it was quite clear that the desk I had was not big enough...or should that be that my stuff is too big for a single desk!

Getting organised - the first advert is going in Bollington Live - so looking forward to teaching my first sessions here.

Happy Chinese New Year - Kung Hei Fat Choy!

What a long day! Well, all that preparation was justified. 58 happy children, 1 satisfied Head and several satisfied teaching and support staff.

I would normally deliver a silk painting workshop over two afternoons or at the very least one day to give the outline time to dry properly but we managed to do two full workshops between 9 am and 3 pm.

I was really impressed with the work the children did - lots of rabbits, dragons and horses today!

I am certainly going to add it to my range of courses on offer at Adelphi Mill Studio.
