What kids say...

I tell you, if I ever feel down, I am going to read the post it notes which were written by the children of Ellenbrook Community Primary School.  Thank you SO much!

I will scan them and put some on my site but here are just a few:

"Today I had lots of fun I would love to see you again and all the stuff we did I loved. Thank you"

"Debbie thank you so much for everything you did today you are a fantastic artist. Thank you!"

"It was the best day ever."

"I liked it today but painting the shirt was quite triky. It was brilliant making the leaves."

"Dear Debby, Thank you I had a great day today it was the best day ever."

"This was reely fun my favret bit was the masks thank you."

"Dear Debby It was the best school day ever. It was brilint."

I had said to the children to tell me what they did or did not like about the session and as it was the first time I had delivered the rainforest mask workshop which I had designed for them, to tell me how I could improve it for other children and, boy, isn't it great when kids listen...

"It was fun today. The best bit was because it was funny because when painting me and Matilda were trying to make brown and then you brought it so don't change anything."

God bless 'em.  I had a fabulous time and think I had better stop with the comments now because my head is getting a bit too big!

Another Creative Day at Ellenbrook Community Primary

I tell you, I was so impressed with these year 3s. They had obviously been learning all about animals of the rainforest because they knew that the butterfly mask I had designed for them was the Blue Morpho Butterfly...

and the frog mask I had designed for them was the Red Eyed Tree frog...

And the monkey mask was the Black Howling Monkey (image to follow).

They had some brilliant ideas when it came to designing their own t-shirts...

...and the year 4s from Monday's silk painting workshop produced these beauties, totally unaided today for the extra drop-flags for the school.

Impressed doesn't describe it. I had a lovely two days at Ellenbrook Community Primary School in Salford and hope to go back again soon.

One World Craft Activity

What can I say! The Ellenbrook Community Primary School year 4s were amazing yesterday as I led the silk painted workshop for One World Week.

30 young people, fully engaged all day, produced some stunning drop-flags to hang on their bedroom doors.

I am looking forward to going back tomorrow to deliver a mask making and t-shirt painting session inspired by the animals of the rainforest!
